A Message from the Pastor - June 11, 2020

Details on Graduate Sunday, Sunday School on Zoom, Virtual Vacation Bible School and more.

    Hi Springfield,

On this rainy Thursday, I am reminded though the storms keep on raging in life, my soul has been anchored in the Lord. What a blessing to know God continues to protect, sustain and bless us. God has never left us, and He never will!

    GRADUATE SUNDAY

As you know we will be celebrating the class of 2020 graduates this coming Sunday with a drive-thru graduation parade. Our graduates are excited about coming out and we are excited about honoring their accomplishments. I realize the forecast is calling for rain, but we’re not going to let that stop us from honoring this memorable milestone in the life of our students. The parade is scheduled to begin at 11:30am. Please come out and make this an occasion our graduates will never forget.

    SUNDAY SCHOOL ON ZOOM

Sunday school has moved to ZOOM. You can still register for Sunday school on our website under our Christian Education tab. I am grateful for our Sunday school leaders and teachers who have done a great job in making this happen. I am also grateful for your patience as we try to work out the kinks to make everything as smooth as possible.

    VIRTUAL VBS

Virtual VBS is on the way. Our virtual VBS will be Thursday, June 25th through Friday, June 26th. This year’s VBS will culminate with a parking lot picnic on Saturday, June 27th. I’m excited about it, you should be too. More details will follow next week.

    CONGREGATIONAL SURVEY

If you haven’t done so already, please take a few moments to fill out our congregational survey. This survey will be available on our website for another week. Many of you have already filled it out and I thank you for your feedback. The survey is designed to get your input as we make plans to reopen our sanctuary. I want to be clear, I do not know when we will return to the sanctuary. Your completing the survey, along with scientific data and medical analysis, will help us make the best decision possible about our return.

    AFRICAN AMERICAN BUSINESS

As you know, many African-American small business have been hurt by the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent stay-at-home order. Though that order has been lifted, many businesses are still struggling. I want to encourage you to support small business, including those businesses connected to our church. Attached to this email you will find an updated church business directory that may be helpful.

In the words of the apostle Paul from Ephesians 3, I pray today, that we may all be able comprehend the length and width and height and depth of God’s love. God loves you and so do I. As usual, KEEP THE FAITH, STAY SAFE & WASH YOUR HANDS.
