Hi Springfield,

 

 

The words of Psalm 33 are ringing in my mind today. In verses 1 through 4 says “Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise. For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.” Verse 1 says praise is comely for the upright. Praise is like a beautiful dress or a finely tailored suit. It fits well on those who are upright with God. What a tremendous blessing to think about. Are you well dressed in praise and honor to God?

 

Here are a few things happening at the Springfield Baptist Church in the coming days and weeks.

 

YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY

Calling all young adults ages 18 to 35!! We’re looking forward to fun, faith, and fellowship as we celebrate the young adults of Springfield. Join our Young Adult Ministry Friday, July 1^st at 7pm for a fun-filled game night in the MPC. Then on Sunday on July 3^rd at 10am. Rev. Dr. James Wilkes, pastor of the Elon First Baptist Church will be our special guest preacher. The colors for the event are blue, white, and gold! Let’s celebrate God together.

GRADUATION SUNDAY

Graduation Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, July 10^th at 10am. We are looking forward to recognizing all our 2022 graduates both high school and college. We’re asking all members to donate $25 to the Scholarship Ministry on this day to support future scholarship recipients. I want to thank God for our Scholarship Ministry and for all their work in helping to recognize our graduates.

YOUTH DAY EVENTS

Youth weekend is coming up Saturday, July 16^th and Sunday, July 17^th. It will be a weekend of faith and service. On Saturday, July 16^th we’re asking all youth ages 13 to 17 to share in service as we clean our stretch of Auburn Knightdale Road. Meet in the church parking lot at 9AM and all available parents please join in to help supervise. Afterwards we’ll have a fun outing that you don’t want to miss. Then on Sunday, July 18^th, we’ll worship God together. Parents make plans now to have your children in attendance.

 

CITY OF GARNER MEETING

 Next Thursday, July 7^th there will be an important meeting at the Garner Senior Center from 6pm to 7pm. Garner residents are asked to attend this meeting to discuss and given input on the future plans for Rand Road and Jones Sausage Road. Make sure your voice is heard in the process.

• Springfield is still a COVID-19 testing site through our partnership with Mako Medical. PCR testing is Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm.
