Hi Springfield,

Happy September! Man, it seems like this year is moving by so quickly. My
question for you today is how’s your heart? Not your blood pressure or how many
beats per minute you track. But is your heart pure in the sight of the Lord? Psalm
73:1 says, “Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.” That’s one
of the reasons why it’s so important to keep your heart pure and clean. It’s
important to keep your motives pure. It’s important to pray to God, read your
word, and strive to love your neighbor as yourself. When you do these things, you
will be among those who can testify God is good all the time and all the time God
is good.

MINISTRY BUDGETS 2023
Attention all ministry leaders. It’s budgeting time. As we prepare for the 2023
budget, we need your ministry to submit their budget request by September 30 th .
Your budgeting packet has been emailed to your ministry email account. Budget
packets are also available on the website along with a budget video tutorial to
help guide you in the process. We look forward to all the Lord will do through
your ministries in 2023. If you have any questions, please call the church office.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL MATERIAL DELAY
Attention all Sunday School participants. We are once again experiencing delays
with our Sunday School book shipment. The Purchasing Agent and Christian
Education Ministry are working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible. In
the meantime, you can go to our website to get the Sunday School material. It is
on the homepage, just click on the tab that says Sunday School and it will direct
you to the material. Please continue to pray with us as we work through these
challenges.

SPRINGFIELD CHRONICLES – FALL EDITION
Springfield Chronicles Fall Edition is just around the corner. The deadline for your
article, recipe, shout-out, poem or pictures is Sunday, September 4th . Submit your
information by clicking on the graphic on our website.

 

WOMEN MINISTRY CIRCLES
On Saturday, September 10th at 10am the Women’s Ministry will continue their
reading club discussion of Henri Nouwen’s book Spiritual Direction: Wisdom for
the Long Walk of Faith. This talk will examine chapters 5 through 7. This event will
be in-person and virtual. More information next week.

 

ANNUAL CHURCH OUTING – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 TH
Our annual church outing is right around the corner. We are excited about this
amazing time of fellowship and fun. Thanks to all of the volunteers who will help
serve during this time. The church outing will take place at Lake Benson in Garner
on Saturday, September 17th from 11am to 4pm. It’s going to be epic. I can’t wait
to see you there!
