A Message from the Pastor - May 21, 2020

Phase II update, Sunday School book pick-up and upcoming events.

    Hello Springfield,

I trust that you are well on this terrific Thursday. God continues to shower us with blessings and grace despite this global pandemic. Springfield, let me again say how honored and blessed I am to be your pastor. I was overwhelmed by all the love you showed and the parade was simply amazing. My family and I want to thank you again for all the kindness shown as we celebrated our first year in ministry together as pastor and people. Continue to pray for us and we’ll certainly do the same for you.

    ZOOM CHECK-INS

Last week’s Zoom check-ins went extremely well. It was good to see your smiling faces. Thank you for taking time out of your schedules to be part. We are planning more activities using Zoom so I encourage those of you who can to become familiar with Zoom. Those of you who may not have access to Zoom, we will provide conference call numbers for you to be able to dial in so that you can continue to stay connected.

    SUNDAY SCHOOL BOOKS

Many of you have asked about Sunday school books. As you know, our current books’ lessons end May 31st. We are planning a drive-thru Sunday school book giveaway for Saturday, May 30th at 11am. Please mark your calendars so that you can get your June quarter Sunday school books.

    UPCOMING EVENTS

There are many other events we have in the works including:

    • Another coronavirus care package giveaway in June.
    • Our annual Men’s Day celebration on Sunday, June 7th
    • An event to honor the class of 2020. We are proud of our graduates.
    • Virtual Vacation Bible School.

We will be sharing more details about these events in our upcoming email blasts so stay tuned!

    PHASE II

Lastly, I again want to ask for your prayers and patience. On Friday at 5pm our state will enter Phase II of the Governor’s reopening plan. Even though we are entering Phase II, neither the current data nor the recommendations that the governor has made in other areas support reopening for mass gatherings. State health officials continue to recommend gatherings be limited to 10 people inside and 25 people outside using social distancing. Simply put, it’s still not yet safe for us to return to our sanctuary. We will continue to listen to state health officials, follow trends and data to make an informed decision on when we are able to return, but now is not that time.

What do we do until we’re able to come back? KEEP THE FAITH, STAY SAFE & WASH YOUR HANDS!

    Pastor
