Hi Springfield,

Psalm 42:1 says, “As the deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee O God.” The sentiment described in the Psalm is of a thirsty deer that is seeking and searching water. The Psalmist then uses that image to create an analogy of how our souls should thirst after God. In the same way the deer searches out the water and gulps up the water, is the same way our souls should search for God and drink His living water. The blessing of searching out God’s living water is that His source of living water will never run dry.

There are many exciting things happening at the Springfield Baptist Church that I want to share with you.

VACCINATION CLINIC

On Saturday, March 13th at 9am our church will host its second vaccination clinic. THIS CLINIC IS ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO RECEIVED THEIR 1ST VACCINATION SHOT AT OUR CHURCH ON FEBRUARY 20TH. The March 13th clinic is to provide participants with their 2nd vaccination shot. If you received your 1st vaccination shot at Springfield, you are asked to return on March 13th at the same time as your previous appointment to receive your 2nd shot. 

IMPORTANT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY

Beginning Sunday, the Economic Empowerment Ministry will host a 4-week health and finance class during the Sunday School at 8:45am. This class is open to members and non-members. The class is designed to show the direct relationship between health and finances and teach strategies to lower medical expense and enhance your quality of life to improve your financial standing. THE HIGH COST OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Three of Springfield’s finest ministries – Economic Empowerment Ministry, Education Ministry and Scholarship Ministry – are coming together to help families deal with the high cost of higher education. Thank God for the power of partnership. This forum will take place Saturday, March 20th at 9am on Zoom. Subjects to be discussed include: saving for college, scholarships, avoiding student debt and how to complete the FAFSA. More details to come. 

 

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY CHECK-INS

I am excited to announce our Children’s Ministry will begin quarterly Zoom check-ins later this month. This is just a time for the children of the church to come together virtually to help them stay connected to their friends and their church. Zoom information will be provided next week.
