This is just another day that the Lord has kept me. 
He has kept me from all evil with my mind stayed on Jesus.

I trust that you are having a thankful Thursday. There are so many things around us and in our culture that we could complain about. Instead, today let’s be thankful for all the Lord has given. He’s kept us and for that – we are thankful. 

There are many things I need to share with you in today’s email blast. 

CONGREGATIONAL SURVEY

First, let me tell you about our congregational survey. On the homepage of our Springfield Baptist Church website we have placed a congregational survey. This survey is designed to get feedback from you about your comfort level and expectations as we plan to return to the sanctuary. The survey includes 10 questions. I would ask you to answer each of the questions. Once you have completed all 10 questions, please click submit. Let me be clear, this survey does not mean we will be returning to the sanctuary soon. The survey gives us the opportunity to hear from you so that we can implement best practices whenever we return. 

WEEKEND EVENTS

We have some very exciting events planned for this weekend. 

• Saturday, June 6, @ 11am we will have another Coronavirus care package giveaway. The giveaway is sponsored by our Men’s Ministry. I would like to thank them for their effort and dedication in making this event possible.

• Sunday, June 7th our Sunday school will move to ZOOM. Please make sure you register for Sunday school so that we can accommodate everyone who wants to attend. You can register on the Springfield homepage. Details about the times and class offerings are listed on our webpage. So far, more than 130 people have registered – to God be the glory!

• Sunday at 10am we will be celebrating Men’s Day. Our special guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Tyrone Martin of the Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Mt. Clemens, MI. We are grateful to have him to share and serve.

DRIVE-THRU GRADUATION CELEBRATION 

On the 2nd Sunday in the month, June 14th we are planning a drive-thru graduation parade for all our graduates. As you know, many of our students were not able to graduate in the traditional way due to COVID-19, but we want to let them know how proud Springfield is of their accomplishments. Please join me as we celebrate our graduates 2nd Sunday. More details will follow.

There are many other wonderful things we have in the works including: virtual VBS culminating with a parking lot picnic and a book drive (so save your gently used books). You’ll hear more about these efforts soon.

All that we are doing is to serve God, to serve you and to serve our community at a time like this. I pray our efforts are pleasing to our Heavenly Father.
