A Message from the Pastor - December 4, 2020

Free Produce Giveaway, Advent Series, Prayer Meeting, Free COVID-19 testing, Drama Ministry Christmas Drive-In, Senior Citizen Addresses and more.

    Hi Springfield,

“Joy to the World, the Lord is come,

    Let earth receive her king,

Let every heart, prepare him room

And heaven and nature sing ….”

Though the song is entitled “Joy to the World” the song is really about hope. The song reminds us of the hope that Jesus brings when He comes into our lives. I pray you are experiencing that hope this holiday season. That hope is what reminds us that Jesus makes all things better. Praise God for that!

    FREE PRODUCE GIVEAWAY

In conjunction with the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Springfield will be giving away free boxes of produce for the community for the next three Saturdays at 11am – Dec. 5th, 12th and 19th. The boxes are first come, first serve and the produce comes from African-American farms across our state. We are grateful for this wonderful opportunity to serve God and our community. Shout out to our Missions Ministry. If you’d like to volunteer, please email:

    ADVENT SERIES

Beginning this coming Tuesday, December 8th, be infused with hope, joy and peace during our special Advent Series. The series will air during our Bible study hour. We have some dynamic guests who will be sharing God’s word. Tune in and be blessed!

    PRAYER MEETING RESUMES

Beginning next Wednesday, December 9th, our Wednesday evening prayer meeting will resume at 6:30pm. What a blessing to have prayer both at 6:30am and 6:30pm on Wednesdays. Details to come soon. Remember the Bible teaches us to pray without ceasing.

    FREE COVID-19 TESTING

Our initiative to help stop of the spread of COVID-19 continues this month with more testing opportunities. December 10th and 22nd, Wake County will be providing free COVID-19 testing at our church. On Dec. 16th from 10am to 3pm, Advance Community Health will host free testing. Remember testing is one way to help fight the pandemic.

    DRAMA MINISTRY CHRISTMAS DRIVE-IN

This year, in lieu of our normal Christmas production, we’re going back to an oldie but goodie. On Saturday, December 12th at 5pm we’re going to replay the Christmas production from 2019 entitled “Christmas Hope” drive-in style. Come with your blankets and hot chocolate and enjoy this wonderful spirit-filled production from the comfort of your car. This will also be the time where we will distribute Sunday School Christmas bags. We look forward to seeing you there.

    SENIOR CITIZEN ADDRESSES

To all of our senior citizens, please make sure that we have your correct mailing address. This year, due to COVID-19, the senior citizen gifts will be mailed out. If you have moved since last year or you aren’t sure we have your correct address, please contact the church at (919) 772-8078.

As usual, KEEP THE FAITH, STAY SAFE & WASH YOUR HANDS.
