A Message from the Pastor - October 29, 2020

Fall Festival, Homecoming Details, Ministry news and more

    Hi Springfield,

Psalm 50:5 says “Gather my saints together unto me.” What an appropriate scripture for Homecoming 2020. As we celebrate our 154th Homecoming this Sunday, I am excited for the opportunity for us to gather once again. Even though our coming together won’t be as it has been in the past, we can still praise God for another opportunity to be in the number. This pandemic has reminded us that God is in every place, but it will be a blessing to be amongst the saints once again. Can’t wait to see you there. I’ll share more information about our drive-in worship later in this email.

    TRANSITIONING THROUGH QUARANTINE

Our Women’s Ministry is offering ways for women of our church to refresh, restore and renew with a called Transitioning Through Quarantine. This ministry opportunity is to empower our women with information on how to be their best selves. Saturday’s session is called “Self-care is NOT selfish.” For more information email .

    DRIVE-THRU FALL FESTIVAL

Also, on Saturday instead of our normal fall festival for our Children's and Youth Ministries will host a drive-thru fall festival at 5pm in our church parking lot. The theme for the drive through is Victory. Come through for free candy, faith and fun.

    HOMECOMING SUNDAY 2020

Allow me to share some details about Sunday’s big event.

    • The parking lot will open at 8:30am. Please do not arrive before 8:30am on Sunday so that we can make sure we have everything in place before the service at 10am.
    • Please plan to remain in your cars for the whole service.
    • Please wear your mask. On Sunday, you will be interacting with our Deacons, Building & Grounds and Kitchen Committee workers. Please be respectful of them by wearing your mask as you encounter them.
    • Cars will be parked by size. Follow the instructions from our Buildings & Grounds Crew as they show you where to park.
    • To-go plates will be distributed once the service is over as you leave the parking lot. To-go plates will be given based on the number of people in your car.
    • Lastly, I’ll say it again, BRING YOUR PATIENCE. Remember the goal of this Sunday is to give God all the praise. That’s what we intend to do.
