A Message from the Pastor - October 22, 2020

Giveaways, COVID-19 testing, Fall Festival, Homecoming and Economic Empowerment Ministry Events

    Hi Springfield,

I woke up this morning with 2 Timothy 4 on my mind. There in verse 17 the Apostle Paul says, “but the Lord stood by my side and gave me strength.” Earlier in the chapter, Paul talks about people who have made his life hard and being deserted by some friends. But in summary, Paul says the Lord stood by my side and gave me strength. Remember in this season the Lord promises to stand by our side and give us strength. If God could do it for the Apostle Paul, He can do it for us right now.

    VPG GIVEAWAY

Our Civic Action Ministry will be giving away voter protective gear (VPG) again this Sunday after service from 11:30am to 12:30pm. The package consists of a mask, gloves, hand sanitizer and information on the early voting sites. Stop by and get a free package as you prepare to exercise your right to vote.

    FREE COVID-19 TESTING

Next Wednesday, October 28th from 11am to 3pm we will host free COVID-19 testing in partnership with Advance Community Health. Remember testing is an important part of combatting the spread of this virus.

    FALL FESTIVAL DRIVE-THRU STYLE

In place of our usual Fall Festival, the Children's and Youth Ministries will host a drive-thru treat give-away on Saturday, October 31st at 5pm. The theme for the event is Victory! Please come out, bring your kids and have a great time.

    HOMECOMING 2020

The first Sunday in November we will be celebrating our 154th Homecoming. What a blessing! As you know, we’re planning a drive-in worship service at 10am. Much work and planning has gone into this event. I want to thank everyone who has worked to make this event possible. In next week’s email, I will share some information about arrivals and parking. Again, we solicit your prayers and ask for your patience. I believe God will be glorified and can’t wait to see you there.

    ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT MINISTRY EVENTS

The Economic Empowerment Ministry is preparing to host two virtual events in November that are sure to provide information and insight to our members. The first is a Virtual Business Expo on Saturday, November 7th from 6pm to 8pm. The second event is a Social Security Seminar on Monday, November 9th from 7pm to 8:30pm. Both events will be hosted on ZOOM. For more information please email Thank God for creative ministry at a time like this.

As usual KEEP THE FAITH, STAY SAFE & WASH YOUR HANDS.

    Blessings Always,

    Pastor
