On this thankful Thursday we give God praise for all that He has done and is doing. Colossians 4:2 gives us words to live by. There the Bible says, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” What a powerful yet simple verse of scripture. If more of us did what the text suggests, we’d have less time to complain, murmur, and gossip and more time for prayer, participation and praise!
Here are some of the exciting things happening at the Springfield Baptist Church.
THANKSGIVING GROCERY GIVEAWAY
The countdown is on for the Thanksgiving grocery giveaway. On Saturday, November 20th at 10am we will give away free groceries to those in need in our community. The groceries will be feature items to make a Thanksgiving meal and will be distributed while supplies last. Come out and grab a bag of groceries or get one to share with someone you know who is in need.
PRE-THANKSGIVING SERVICE – VIRTUAL ONLY!!!
On Wednesday, November 24th at 7pm, we will have our annual Pre-Thanksgiving service. The service will be virtual only. I know last week I announced that it would be live and in-person, but due to unforeseen circumstances the PRE-THANKSGIVING SERVICE WILL BE VIRTUAL ONLY. You will be able to view the service have on our virtual platforms YouTube, Facebook, and our website. Let’s make plans to praise the Lord together and thank Him for all He’s done.
CHURCH CONFERENCE
On Friday, December 3rd at 7pm we will host a church conference. The conference will be in-person only. The conference will be in the sanctuary. COVID-19 protocols will be in place. At the conference, the budget committee will present an operational budget for 2022. Please support this very important meeting with your prayers and presence.
ADVENT PREACHING SERIES
Again, this year, during the month of December our Bible study hour will be focused on Christmas season. The series will focus on the love, joy, and peace that Christ’s birth brings to the heart of believers. The series will begin on Tuesday, December 7th at 7pm. We have some special guests who will be sharing during this time. You do not want to miss this blessing!
WOMEN’S MINISTRY VIRTUAL EVENT
On Saturday, December 11th at 11am our Women’s Ministry will host a virtual Christmas event. This is the final event in this year’s Transitioning through Quarantine series. All interested should register by next Wednesday, November 24th. Please click here to register or go to the church website.
