A Message from the Pastor - May 28, 2020

Sunday School Information, Men's Day and Prayer

    Hi Springfield,

Blessings and grace to all of you my Father’s children. What a blessing it is for us to be alive and well even in this global pandemic. I’m grateful for your participation and partnership in the gospel. Believe me when I tell you, God continues to do great and wonderful things among us.

Thanks to all of you who supported pastor early this morning as I participated in a statewide prayer call hosted by the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. The theme of the call was “The Power of Truth.” Even if you missed the call this morning, but would like to hear the call you can do so by calling (712) 432-0990 and enter pin: 613028.

    SUNDAY SCHOOL INFORMATION

Don’t forget this coming Saturday at 11am we will be passing out the new Sunday school books for the quarter. As you drive-up, members of our Sunday school team will be here to give you your books. I want to thank God for their diligence in making this effort a success. We may even have a surprise planned for those who stop by.

Since this pandemic began, I have been teaching the Sunday school lessons on Wednesdays at noon. I thank all of you for tuning in. As you know, Sunday school, at its best, is intended to be interactive. One of the great benefits of Sunday school is to be able to ask questions and receive feedback as we study God’s word together. With this in mind, I want to make you aware of some changes we’ll be making to Sunday school. Our last “Sunday school on Wednesday” will be Wednesday, June 3rd at noon.

Beginning Sunday, June 7th Sunday school will resume on Sunday mornings using Zoom and a teleconference line and our Sunday school teachers will be leading those discussions. I will be sharing more details about this in the coming days. Thanks for your patience as we rise to the challenge of using technology to stay connected at a time like this.

    ANNUAL MEN’S DAY

The first weekend in June we will celebrate Men’s Day. We are excited about the opportunity to recognize and appreciate the men of our ministry. On that Saturday, June 6th @ 11am we will have another Coronavirus Care Package giveaway sponsored by our Men’s Ministry. Make plans now to attend. On Sunday, June 7th we will celebrate Men’s Day. Although this year’s Men’s Day will look different, I still believe God will get all the glory.

    PRAYER

As we prepare to celebrate Men’s Day I can’t help but pause and ask for your prayers. Please pray that God would continue to cover us and keep us safe. I know you have seen the recent reports of Black and Brown people being killed in disheartening and dehumanizing ways. Please pray that God’s peace would rule, God’s justice would reign, and God’s people would be both salt and light in these trying times.

As usual, KEEP THE FAITH, STAY SAFE & WASH YOUR HANDS.

    Pastor
