roadside cleanup, phase II - prayer meeting & intercessory prayer, virtual vbs, young adult praise team, juneteenth celebrations

    Hi Springfield,

I hope you are having a thankful Thursday. What a tremendous blessing our outdoor prayer event was last night. I am grateful for all of you who came out to petition God as we move forward in our re-opening plan. As I’ve said many times, we’re going to “let prayer lead the way” and last night was another opportunity to do just that. I am truly overwhelmed by your support. For those of you praying and fasting with us this week, I trust this time has been a time of reflection, renewal, and revival. God is up to something at the Springfield Baptist Church. And I’m glad about it!

Here’s some of things He’s up to as we partner with Him…

    ROADSIDE CLEANUP

Don’t forget tomorrow we’re doing our part to clean-up our adopted portion of Auburn-Knightdale Road. The effort starts at 9am. Thanks to all who are part of this on-going effort.

PHASE II – PRAYER MEETING & INTERCESSORY PRAYER

As we announced Tuesday night, we’re moving forward into Phase II of our re-opening plan. Phase II will begin on Wednesday, June 23rd. In Phase II the church will be open for Prayer Meeting on Wednesdays at 7pm and Intercessory Prayer on Saturday, July 3rd at 9am. For more information you can watch the video about Phase II on our Springfield Baptist Church YouTube Channel. The video gives you a glimpse of what to expect if you plan to worship in-person or online. Please remember to pack your patience as we work through our re-opening plan.

    VIRTUAL VBS

Virtual VBS is next week June 24th -26th. I am very excited about another opportunity for us to come together as a church family virtually. On next Thursday and Friday Youth classes begin at 6pm and adult classes begin at 7pm. Click here for the Zoom information for both classes. Then on Saturday, June 26th at noon we’ll have a parking lot picnic. Come and have a time of food and fellowship after our VBS experience. I can’t wait to see you there.

    YOUNG ADULT WEEKEND PRAISE TEAM

Do you want to be part of the Young Adult weekend praise team? If you are between 18 and 30, love the Lord and like to sing, please email our Minister of Music, Titus Pollard, at . We’ll share more details about the events planned for Young Adult weekend in next week’s email blast.

    JUNETEENTH CELEBRATIONS

Many of you aware a federal Juneteenth holiday was just passed. Juneteenth commemorates the day, June 19th, 1865, that slaves in Galveston, Texas received the news of the Emancipation Proclamation more than two years after President Lincoln signed it. There are many celebrations happening this weekend including in our area. I encourage you to take this time to learn and share about our history.

Blessings to all. As usual KEEP THE FAITH, STAY SAFE, WEAR, WASH & WAIT.
