A Message from the Pastor - July 9, 2020

Upcoming Events, Ministry Meetings on Zoom, and more!

    Hi Springfield,

I trust you’re having a tremendous Thursday. The Bible tells us in Psalm 95:3 Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised! Psalm 95 is one that calls on God’s people to praise Him for His attributes and His greatness. Even in tough times, there’s always a reason to praise the Lord. Take a second right now to think of one thing to praise God for. I praise Him for the great and mighty works He is doing at the Springfield Baptist Church. I am grateful to be part of what the Lord is doing at Springfield. I hope you are too.

    UPCOMING EVENTS

July is a very busy month at our church. This past Sunday week we celebrated Young Adult Sunday. On Sunday, July 19th we’ll celebrate our youth. July 28th through July 30th we will have our annual revival virtually. There is a lot of work to do in the kingdom and we will continue to do that work to the glory of God. More will be shared about these events and other exciting things being planned at our church.

    MINISTRY MEETINGS ON ZOOM

As you know, we are using ZOOM to stay connected during this season. Some of our ministries have asked about being able to use a church ZOOM account to conduct ministry meetings. We now have a way for you to do that. Ministry leaders can submit a ZOOM meeting request form on our Website. Ministry leaders you will receive detailed instructions on how to do this in your ministry email. Thank you to the technology ministry for your diligence in this effort.

    YOUCANVOTE.ORG

With all the momentum around social change and civil rights, remember one of the best ways we can impact the future is to vote. To that end, I want to make you aware of information about voting. This comes from a non-partisan group called youcanvote.org. Please visit their website if you need to register to vote or to get a better understanding of what is on the ballot in November’s election. Good Christians are good citizens and good citizens vote.

    A WORD OF WISDOM

I also want to briefly remind you to be wise and cautious during this season. Many internet, phone and email scammers have increased intensity. Don’t let people prey on your kindness during this season – or any season for that matter. Remember to investigate and do your due diligence.

    WEAR A MASK!

As I did on Tuesday night, I want to again encourage you to wear a mask when you are in public as you interact with others. Health experts say not wearing a mask in public increases the chances of spreading the disease. What else can you do to fight the spread of the disease?

    Much Love!

    Pastor
