A Message from the Pastor - February 2, 2022

springfield covid-19 testing site, leadership installation, heritage sunday 2022, mortgage assistance, prescription medicine help, virtual only

    Hi Springfield,

Psalm 103:8 says, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in compassion and lovingkindness.” (AMP) In this simple verse there are five characteristics of God. The psalmist says God gives us mercy. He gives us grace. He is longsuffering because He is slow to anger. He abounds in compassion. And God also abounds in lovingkindness. In this one short power-packed verse there are five characteristics of God. I don’t know which one of those characteristics you need God to show you today, but rest assured, whichever it is God can show you His mercy, grace, longsuffering, compassion, and lovingkindness today. I pray that He will.

    SPRINGFIELD COVID-19 TESTING SITE

Beginning Tuesday, February 1st, the Springfield Baptist Church will once again be a COVID-19 testing site. This time we are partnering with Mako Medical. Testing will be from 7am to 4pm Monday through Friday. As you can imagine, this is a major undertaking, and it will require the patience and prayers of our members to help make it go well. Thank God for the efforts of our Health Care Ministry and all those involved in this effort.

    LEADERSHIP INSTALLATION

On Sunday, February 13th we will install our new group of leaders at our 10am service. This will be a virtual installation for our ministry leaders. I want to thank God for those of you who are willing to partner with us to help lead God’s people in these challenging times. I ask that you continue to pray for our church as God leads us to higher heights and deeper depths. More details to come.

    HERITAGE SUNDAY 2022

Springfield we will celebrate Heritage Sunday February 27th. Because we will be virtual this year as well, we’re asking you once again to take a picture in your heritage attire and send it to . The deadline for your submission is Sunday, February 20th. We want to see how good you look as we celebrate Black History.

    VIRTUAL ONLY

Springfield our worship will remain virtual until further notice. This means all our services and planned events will be virtual as we continue our pause due to the latest COVID outbreak. Please continue to pray with us that God’s wisdom and guidance will lead us as we move closer toward the day when we will be able to regather.

What do we do in the meantime? KEEP THE FAITH, STAY SAFE, WEAR, WASH, & WAIT.
