Vaccination Info, Scholarship Ministry Announcement, Women's Ministry Book Club, Oratorical Contest and more!
Hi Springfield,
I was reading this morning and while I was reading, I was reminded about the ingenuity, bravery, and liberation theology of our ancestors. The song “Steal Away” is a Negro Spiritual sung on the Underground Railroad and made popular by the Fisk Jubilee Singers. Its words were intended not only to inspire faith, but also to direct slaves to freedom. As we honor Black History Month and celebrate the contributions of African-Americans, let’s remember the God-honoring words, that in the time of trouble we can “steal away” to Jesus.
